The 5 Spiritual Rules for Developing Your Intuitive Gifts

There really aren’t 5 spiritual rules or 5 simple steps to develop your intuitive gifts. I know what a let down. It is one of the biggest myths that I have heard repeated over and over. It is a huge misconception that some type of dogma or spiritual practice or beliefs are required to be intuitive. Honestly, it is total BS.
It has been an interesting almost 3 decades since I began to study intuition. In that time, it has become cool to be Woo. They sell selenite wands at department stores now. I saw a bundle of sweetgrass at Barnes and Noble the other day. The use of certain items got attached to being intuitive.
The myth that certain spiritual practices, including “special” items, will lead you to being intuitive has created a misunderstanding. It has people believing that external stuff or those practices are what is needed. It makes people think that they have to do something like go to monthly sound baths to align their chakras or get in savasana before breakfast or learn Tarot cards before they can even begin to tap into their intuition. None of those things are true.
Do I love Sound Baths and use them to align my chakras? Hell yes I do. Because I am into esoteric shit. Besides, sound healing is scientifically proven.
Do I use Tarot? You better believe it. They were the first metaphysical tool I learned in 1995.
But are certain spiritual beliefs or metaphysical items a requirement to be an intuitive decision maker? Absolutely NOT. If you are into it, get those crystals or find a great Tarot deck. But if you aren’t into it, it has no bearing on your ability to trust your gut, hear your inner wisdom, or follow your intuition.
Learning to recognize your intuition, strengthening your connection with it, and using it to simplify and build confidence in your decision making is about turning up the volume on your intuition and turning down anything that isn’t it. No quartz crystal, finger symbols or sage required.
Want to become an intuitive decision maker? Start with developing a higher self-awareness. Figure out the things that help you turn down your monkey mind. Your past-based experiences, big T and little T traumas, and the opinions of others can be way louder than the subtle voice of our intuition. Especially when we have been taught that intuition itself is a spiritual experience. For some of my clients, it is meditation that finally unlocks their ability to hear. For others, it was going into therapy and managing their mental health that allowed them to trust their intuition finally.
Remember that Kumbaya or Plant Medicine is not a requirement. Curiosity is actually the only requirement to become more intuitive.
